When planning began 10 years ago for the World’s first inland surf resort – three times the size of Wembley football pitch – EV chargers were included in the green and future-proof vision

Lost Shore Surf Resort, located in a 60-acre country park in Edinburgh, has a clear mission: to use state-of-the-art technology to make surfing available for all, in the most sustainable way possible.

Net positive impact

At the core of this mission is a commitment to having a net positive impact on society. By regularly monitoring the effect of their business operations, Lost Shore aims to maximise the positives and offset the negatives. One example of this is using renewable energy to power the wave pool, which can generate up to 1000 waves per hour.

Accessibility

Another important consideration was accessibility to the surf resort. Atelier Ten designed Lost Shore’s mechanical and electrical infrastructure and recommended installing over 40 Easee EV chargers for private and commercial electric vehicles.

Sustainable partnership

Alejandro Padró Marsal, ESG & Business Development Manager at Lost Shore comments:

“Being the biggest wave pool in Europe brings with it a high degree of responsibility. It’s important for us to work with like-minded businesses, like Easee, who are powering EVs and making a positive change in sustainable transportation.

“You see in the streets that electric vehicles are on the rise so it’s important to have the necessary facilities in place. We are tracking the use of the chargers every month and see they are being used more and more.”
