Netherlands Pilot Grid Service Terms
These terms apply to Netherlands participants only.
1. GENERAL
EASEE GROUP DEVELOPS, MANUFACTURES, AND SUPPLIES HARDWARE FOR CHARGING ELECTRIC VEHICLES AND SMART POWER MANAGEMENT AS WELL AS SOFTWARE, CLOUD SERVICES, APPLICATION PROGRAMMING INTERFACES (APIs) AND OTHER SERVICES RELATED TO THIS. EASEE SELLS ITS PRODUCTS AND SERVICES TO PARTNERS AND INSTALLERS, WHO IN TURN ACT AS RESELLERS OF THE PRODUCTS AND SERVICES. EASEE OWNS THE INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS TO THE PRODUCTS AND SERVICES THAT ARE MADE AVAILABLE TO CUSTOMERS FOR FREE OR WITH A FEE.
This clause applies to users of the Easee Pilot Grid Service, offered through the Easee App to Easee customers with a registered site address in the Netherlands.
Easee Products and Services are provided by Easee Energy Services AS (Organisation Number: 932 789 698). Easee Energy Services AS (Easee hereafter) is a member of the Easee Group, which comprises several affiliated companies.
The service is currently offered in the Netherlands as a limited pilot programme, open to no more than 1000 participants, for the purpose of evaluating the service ahead of any wider or permanent rollout. Enrolment may be limited or closed once capacity is reached, and the Pilot Grid Service itself may be changed, paused or ended more readily during the pilot than would be the case for a permanent commercial service, as described in Clause 2.3.
2. EASEE PILOT GRID SERVICE
2.1 Scope. Participation in Pilot Grid Service is voluntary. You may withdraw your consent to participate at any time, and Easee will effectuate your withdrawal as quickly as reasonably possible.
2.2 Service Operation. When you are using Pilot Grid Service, Easee will monitor and manage the power consumption of your Easee device(s) connected to the Easee App. This is done to help balance the Dutch electricity grid by optimising the utilisation of available electricity. Specifically, you accept that the charging of your Easee device(s) may be automatically paused for shorter periods (up to 2 hours) and will automatically resume.
Easee (via its Aggregator) will, as part of Pilot Grid Service, enter into agreements with third parties that will provide grid owners, including TenneT (TSO in NL) and your regionale netbeheerder (DSO), with a right to reduce or stop the availability of electricity to your Easee device(s). To the extent applicable, you authorise Easee and its Aggregator to make such commitments on your behalf.
This automated pausing does not involve a decision producing legal or similarly significant effects on you within the meaning of Article 22 GDPR. If you have concerns about how Pilot Grid Service has adjusted your charging, you may contact us using the details below.
2.3 Service Changes and Termination. You recognise that the Service is being offered as a pilot and is subject to change. You will be informed about any changes that materially impact your rights or obligations. Easee can at any time terminate Pilot Grid Service, in whole or as it applies to you, at its own discretion, including as a result of the pilot ending. Easee shall not be liable to you for variations of power supply that result from your participation in Grid Service.
2.4 Grid Service Benefit. Grid Service does not currently involve a direct monetary payment to you, and there is no fee for participating in the pilot. Easee may, at its discretion, introduce a monetary or other benefit associated with Grid Service in the future; any such change will be communicated to you separately.
2.5 Right of Withdrawal. As a consumer, your enrolment in Grid Service is a distance contract. Independently of your right to withdraw consent under Article 7(3) GDPR (Clause 2.1 above), you have a statutory right to withdraw from this agreement within 14 days of enrolment without giving any reason, under the Dutch Civil Code (Burgerlijk Wetboek). You may exercise this right using the contact details provided below. Withdrawal does not affect your rights or obligations under the general Easee Products and Cloud Services Terms available at Easee.com website.
2.6 Metering and Personal Data Processing. In connection with your participation, Easee, its Aggregator, affiliates and authorised sub-processors may collect, share and process certain information about you and your energy usage in order to deliver Grid Service, register participants, verify performance, and retain participation data in accordance with this Pilot Grid Service rules.
This may include:
- contact details (including email and address)
- installation records and records associated with commissioning
- consumption and, where relevant, export data from your device(s)
- metering data accessed via your regional netbeheerder
- participation data associated with your use of Pilot Grid Service
Your consumption and metering data will be processed by Easee’s Aggregator and its authorized sub-processors.
Easee and its Aggregator may provide TenneT, your regional netbeheerder, or other relevant grid bodies with aggregated consumption, flexibility and reduction data for the purposes of delivering Pilot Grid Service, and may in some cases be required to provide detailed data around specific events to audit performance, which may include data on an individual participant basis.
By entering the Pilot Grid Service, you agree to receive communications from Easee and/or its aggregator in connection with your participation. You also agree that the above information will be processed, shared and retained by Easee, its aggregator, and authorised sub-processors for the purposes described.
The legal basis for Easee’s processing of your personal data in relation to Pilot Grid Service is the explicit consent you provide by accepting these Terms (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR). As this constitutes an additional agreement with Easee (separate from the Easee Products and Cloud Services Terms available at Easee.com website), you may terminate this agreement and exclude your device from Pilot Grid Service at any time, without affecting your access to other Easee cloud services.
Easee is the Controller under applicable data protection law with respect to the processing of your personal data necessary to provide Pilot Grid Service. We will process such personal data in accordance with the Easee Privacy Notice (NL).
Easee’s Aggregator acts as a Data Processor under applicable data protection law with respect to processing of personal data necessary to provide Grid Service, or, where applicable, as an independent controller, as identified in the Easee Privacy Notice.

Easee is neither willing nor obligated to participate in a dispute resolution procedure before a consumer arbitration board.
You may refer complaints about the Pilot Grid Service to the Authority for Consumers and Markets (ACM), and complaints concerning the processing of your personal data to the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.
