Dear easeetonian.

This has been a special week for us at easee. When our cloud goes down, it doesn’t go unnoticed. It has been a long time since we experienced a more demanding and stressful situation than the one that happened this week. We have experienced tons of mistakes and demanding situations before, but this is different. This is because we now have so many people who have high expectations of us, who trusts us and who are dependent on us and our technology.

It hurts to lose trust and it hurts to feel that we have failed our customers and partners. It hurts when our customers and partners have to spend their precious time and energy on something that is not value-adding. It is in fact the worst thing we know, and we are already doing everything in our power to ensure that this never happens again.

It is in such situations that we grow, and it makes us stronger and better equipped for the future. We also get to know ourselves and those we work with even better. The easiest thing in the world is to be nice when things are going well, but it is when things go wrong that you get to show your true strength and who you really are. Some people share love, understanding and support. Others yell, judge and find faults.

To invest and scale a company at the pace we are doing now is scary. Extremely scary. It is precisely the thought of such events that stop people from even trying. The fear of being judged. The fear of failing. The fear of not being perfect. Fear holds us back from giving it all and from reaching our full potential.

This is not something that will happen to Easee. We will not give in to fear. Not only will we continue to scale. We will continue to scale, and at the same time become better and stronger, by learning from our “mistakes” and by listening to our customers and partners. We will prove to everyone what is possible to achieve when you don’t give in to fear, when you put people first, and when the world’s best teams, partners and customers work together towards a common vision.

The love and understanding we have met is indescribable and we are so extremely grateful that you have supported us through this difficult period. It is not something we take for granted.

When the dust has settled, we will provide you with an open and honest report of what happened, and what we will do in order to prevent it from ever happening again.

Thank you so much for being with us, we would never be where we are today without you.

Written with massive love, humility, respect and vulnerability,

Jonas
